Lounging Around

Lounging Around

So welcome to the lounge! It's a sunken lounge which someone said looked a bit middle eastern influence, maybe it is but I wanted to create some different levels to break the space up a bit. The divide between the lounge and the bar behind caused all sorts of issues as I wanted a tv on both sides of that wall, and because of the fact that its sunken on one side and to incorporate the fire flues etc underneath the tv is a bit higher than is ideal but it works. WE clad the tv wall with Dekton which isn't very well utilised in Ireland but is super versatile. Its basically a blend of raw materials used to produce porcelain, glass, and quartz work surfaces. Dekton  offer several advantages, including exceptional durability, low maintenance requirements, and a wide range of colour and design options. It's not cheap but it can be cut in 4mm oversized sheets so its a good alternative to marble and doesn't have the joins that you'd get with tile.

As you can see the curtains haven't gone up but I decided I'd never be closing them with a view like that
